Francesc Poquet i Crespo (Dénia, 1978). He holds a Higher Degree in Trumpet Performance (CSMC "Salvador Seguí") and a degree in History and Music Sciences (UAB). He began his musical studies at the Orfeó and the Agrupació Artística Musical de Dénia (Alicante), and continued them at the conservatories of Xàbia, Dénia, Alicante, Alcoy, Castellón, Madrid (Fundación Autor), and Barcelona (UAB-UPF).
At the same time, he has maintained an intense choral activity with various ensembles in the Valencian Community and Catalonia, and especially with the Capella de Música de Santa Maria del Pi de Barcelona, under the guidance and direction of Manel Cabero.
He studied voice with Patrícia Llorens, Àngels Civit and Enric Serra (Mac Estudi); counterpoint and fugue with Manuel Oltra; musical analysis with Javier Santacreu (ECCA); advanced notation with Agustí Charles (UPF); electroacoustic music with Gabriel Brncic and Andrés Lewin (UPF); music production with Alberto Mezquíriz (Cabo San Roque); instrumentation and orchestral conducting with Frank du Vuyst; choral conducting with Manuel Cabero, Pepa Álvarez, Diego R. Lluch, Pere Lluís Biosca, Xavier Sans and Jordi Lluch; and film music with Eduardo Armenteros (Fundación Autor), Lluís Vergés, Arnau Bataller (ESMUC), Josep Lluís i Falcó (UB) and Josep Gustems (UB).
As a trumpet player, he has performed in France, Austria, South Korea and throughout much of Spain with ensembles such as the Agrupació Artística Musical de Dénia, Big Band Jam Session, Orquesta Chapó, Taxman Band Orquestra, Band The Gresca and Regreso al Futurock, among others.
As a composer, his works have been performed mainly by Cor de Cambra Tyrichae, Cor de Cambra Impromptu, Coral Canta Conservatori, Cor Adinoi, Cor Cantus Firmus, Coral Castellterçol, Cor Magister Artis, Grup Vocal Scherzo and the Capella de Música de Santa Maria del Pi. His work "Quan ve Nadal" has been published by FICTA Edicions.
In the audiovisual field, he has composed music for the Chilean filmmaker Ignacio Aros, for production companies such as AV Vídeo Produccions, Blauedit Audiovisual, Delta Produccions, Mussol Produccions, Celofán Audiovisual, Free Your Mind Films, and for Literland Web.
He is currently director of the Coral Canticela of the Parròquia de la Sagrada Família, principal trumpet of the Orquestra Himalaya, and music teacher at the Col·legi Salesians Sant Joan Bosco de Barcelona.
